AIIMS- New Delhi, consistently ranked the premier Medical Institute in India has held the top slot for the last six years in a row and has been ranked first for 11 out of the 12 times in annual surveys conducted by India Today. AIIMS' excellence has to do with several factors - small class size, excellent clinically oriented teaching, research exposure, its ability to set its own curriculum and very good library facilities.
