The Society for Indian Institute of Rural Management is a national level organization committed to development since 1988, and has completed 25 years of its service to the nation. It’s an institutional conglomerate with 13 institutions under its fold, contributing towards various facets of life. The Society for Indian Institute of Rural Management (SIIRM) is a registered, non government, non-profit, autonomous organization, engaged in education, research, training and consultancy in management, rural development and allied areas. With a history, dating back to 1988, SIIRM is a highly regarded place of research and education that makes continuing distinctive contributions to society by providing quality education leading to more jobs and thus assisting the economic development.
Possessed with a futuristic vision, the IRM seeks to bring, both the corporate and the academia, to a single platform for a great professional experience. Prof. Marceline Fusilier of the Western State University of Louisiana, USA and Prof. Subhash Durlabhji from NSU are visiting professors at IRM. Similarly, corporate leaders and political head honchos from India and abroad visits IRM for interaction with its burgeoning managers on issues of contemporary importance

Since its establishment, SIIRM has undertaken a wide spectrum of research and consultancy projects on issues like health, education, environment, employment infrastructure, natural resource management, social justice and empowerment, for, and on behalf of, the Central and State Government, Corporate Houses, International and Bilateral agencies such as UNICEF, UNFPA, World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank (IBRD), World Food Programme (WFP), Oxfam USA, KFW, RUSDIP (ADB) and so on. The SIIRM was founded by Dr. Thomas Cangan, a great visionary whose mission was creation, dissemination and extension of knowledge for widening the mental horizon of the young and promising men and women who wish to pursue their academic and professional studies with an orientation towards ethically acceptable economic and social development.
