Introduction
Ceramic engineering is the science and technology of creating ceramic objects from inorganic, non metallic materials.
Ceramic materials are widely used these days in households as well as industry. Glass, porcelain, brick, and cement are all examples of ceramics. Ceramic engineers develop new ceramic products as well as methods and equipment for processing ceramic materials. They work with a wide variety of products, ranging from glassware and electronic components, fibre optic material, cell phone components, nuclear reactors and linings for blast furnaces and jet engines.
Basically ceramic engineers are material specialists who focus on ceramics. As ceramic engineering is a very vast field and thus Ceramic engineers work in many different ways. They work in labs testing various compounds and their properties. They work with companies that use ceramic products, they work in quality control or design.
