Choreographer

Freshers can earn anywhere between Rs.3 lakhs to 6 lakhs a year; Assistant choreographers earn Rs. 5-12 lakh a year. Senior choreographers charge on the basis of assignments.

This is an upcoming career option offering bright prospects as demand is high for movie songs, shows and TV serials, and other cultural programmes. One also has the option of working in television industry and films and stage shows continue to be the major employers. Event Management companies and modeling agencies also offer good options. One can begin by assisting an established choreographer and after gaining experience and confidence one can be on one’s own.

Saroj Khan (Choreographer): she is synonymous to Indian film choreography. Farah Khan, Terence Lewis, Prabhu Deva, Shiamak Davar, Vaibhavi Merchant are also some of the famous names. 

The days begin early in the studio where discussions take place with the team members on upcoming assignments. Plan the dance moves and props depending on the event or film. Start training with the members/ group who will be performing. After quick lunch proceed for meeting with the film director. Reach back the studio/ home studio and meet the designers. Call it a day.
