Big event management companies look for Diploma or degree in event management, business management (marketing specialisation), advertising or public relations with specialization in event management.

Event management is taught as subject in post graduate degree in public relations and advertising or mass communication. Post graduate Diploma and Masters in event management are some of the courses available.

The eligibility to take admission in master level courses is a Bachelor’s in any stream having some understanding of media issues. The selection is generally based on a written test followed by a personal interview.

For admissions to MBA/ PG Diploma In Management in IIMs and top colleges, CAT or Common Admission Test is the main entrance exam, CAT is conducted by the IIMs.

Management Aptitude Test, MAT is another national entrance test. This test is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). Institutes offering PG program in management and allied subjects generally participate in this exam.
