Who is a spa therapist? Who is an aromatherapist?
Spa therapists and aromatherapists help people in soothing their mind, mood and health; they use essential oils for this purpose. These essential oils are derived from plant sources and other aromatic compounds are also used. These essential oils have many beneficial properties like having a antimicrobial effect. Although they are not used widely to treat medical conditions but are used worldwide as beauty and wellness products and provide relaxation and rejuvenate the person using them.
What does a professional Aromatherapist do?
Most people assume that aromatherapy is a feel-good and stress relieving therapy but aromatherapy does much more than that and provide various benefits. A professional aroma therapist works with clients on a holistic basis, addressing both physical symptoms and their root cause. They usually begin with taking health history and then plan the sessions. Based on the interview and results of the session, the aromatherapist chooses appropriate essential oils and creates one or more aromatherapy blends for the client to use at home. Results are generally seen after one to three weeks of regular essential oil use, and a client may be seen for several follow-up sessions if necessary.
