The doctors professional life can not be considered as easy, particularly in the initial years when one is attached to a hospital as a resident or senior resident. As a resident or senior resident, one has to work in shifts, at time the shifts are in the night also and the doctors have to be on the call on 24 hrs basis. The day usually starts with going for a round of all the patients, checking the case histories of each patient, giving instructions to the nursing staff for required treatments and diagnostics. Post that the doctors also meet up with the family members of the patients and give them information on the patients progress etc. There's no doubt that the work is physically and mentallty quite stressing, however the satisfaction of curing a patient or giving hope to the patient's family members, easily overcomes this stress.
