What is PR Manager's job?
Public relations managers manage the flow of information of an individual or a company with the outside world, usually using various means of mass media like newspapers, TV, Internet and Radio. Usually one joins a big PR firm or one can have own PR agency.
Individuals and companies want a certain image to be projected to all its stake holders and companies and government often require that the public, investors, partners, employees, and other stakeholders maintain a certain point of view about it, its people and various decisions and a Public Relations manager or agency takes care of this. Common activities of a Public Relations Manager include giving press releases, announcing the launches, speaking at conferences, winning industry awards, working with the press, and employee communication.
Public image is something that is always very important for any organization as public image can make or break any organization. Thus, the job of a PR manager usually involves both generating positive publicity and managing negative publicity and their profile includes creating corporate publicity, product publicity, maintaining good relations with the government; publish the corporate publications such as bulletins, magazines, newsletter etc for employees.
